Early-Stage Glioblastomas: increasing your suspicion based on clinical-radiological features
Ana Paula Alves Fonseca, São Paulo / Brazil
Felipe Torres Pacheco, São Paulo / Brazil |
This lecture presents the result of a study project organized and developed by the Neuroradiology Study Group of the Radiological and Diagnostic Imaging Society of São Paulo (GENE-SPR), through the cooperation of 19 centers specialized in Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging in Brazil and Argentina. Ana Paula Fonseca, MD, was the responsible study researcher on this project, and Antônio José da Rocha, MD, and Suzana Malheiros, MD, were the coordinators. The work planning, literature review and choice of clinical cases related to this study took place at GENE-SPR monthly meetings, between 2019 and 2020. After this time, the project became a multicenter study with the largest sample ever studied on Early-Stage Glioblastomas, a rare and challenging presentation of this subgroup of tumors in the Central Nervous System. All the results were approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the “Irmandade da Santa Casa de Misericórdia de São Paulo”, a very respectful hospital and educational institution from Sao Paulo, Brazil. |
