The ESOR Courses for EDiR are designed to prepare/assist those entering examinations for the European Diploma in Radiology (EDiR) but can also be used to update one’s knowledge in a specific area. The format includes nine courses, each one dealing with a specific organ/system-oriented theme. The teaching/learning objectives for each of the topics are strictly adhered to Level II of the European Training Curriculum. Completion of the courses does not guarantee acceptance to take the examination or success in the examination.

Learning Objectives

  1. to consolidate knowledge about the normal thoracic anatomy, typical pathologies as well as tubes and lines on plain chest radiographs
  2. to understand the central role of patterns in chest radiology, especially CT
  3. to learn about typical radiological features of lung cancer and its staging
  4. to be familiar with the typical radiological features of neoplastic and inflammatory mediastinal disease
  5. to understand the crucial links between different forms of immunocompromise and different causes of infection and the respective differential diagnosis
