Radiology Reporting Workshop Series

RW 12 - How to report MSK studies

February 28, 08:00 - 09:00 CET

Writing a radiological report is central to our work as radiologists. Yet, we get relatively little training on how to report MSK and other studies. We generally pick this up from our peers, but such peer support may not necessarily be available. Many different ways of writing a report exist. Based on thirty years of reporting MSK studies, this workshop will address what I consider to be a good MSK report.

Whether writing structured reports or prose reports, some basic tenants of reporting still exist.
This workshop will involve short cases review, interactive discussion, and critiquing of reports.

The main purpose of the workshop is to (a) improve report readability and (b) understand the importance of a clear, clinically relevant report. Also, one should appreciate that report writing is a lifelong evolving process that benefits from constructive criticism and re-evaluation.
