Photon-counting CT: image quality and radiation dose
Erik Tesselaar, Linköping / Sweden
1. To describe the principles and technological advancements of photon-counting CT that distinguish it from conventional CT.
2. To describe the advantages and limitations of photon-counting CT in terms of image quality, including the potential for improved spatial and contrast resolution, reduced image noise, and enhanced tissue characterisation.
3. To evaluate the impact of photon-counting CT on radiation dose and patient safety, including comparisons with conventional CT and other imaging modalities, as well as the potential for dose reduction and optimisation.
