The potential economic opportunities resulting from more sustainable healthcare are tremendous. From development of ground-breaking energy efficient technologies to better use and re-use of products, to more effective green procurement approaches, we can transform healthcare to have a lower environmental footprint, greater societal benefit, and stronger financial value. But it requires large scale change: better policy and regulatory frameworks to deploy and commercialize sustainable healthcare technologies, and smarter investments to achieve wide-ranging impact. This session will explore the barriers and opportunities to realizing the economic benefits of sustainable healthcare.
