COURSE INFORMATION

The programme of this webinar will cover the dos and don’ts of optimisation of abdominal computed tomography procedures. It is aimed at radiologists, radiographers, and medical physicists who want to improve their skills in:

  • Securing adequate diagnostic image quality in abdominal CT scans
  • Avoiding image artefacts and finding an optimal balance between radiation exposure and image quality

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

After watching the webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Identify frequent errors in protocol settings that lead to increased radiation dose or compromised diagnostic yield.
  • Understand the various abdominal CT indications and how the contrast enhancement phases should be optimised by general physiology to secure optimal diagnostic results
  • Demonstrate, through clinical cases, how optimised abdominal CT protocols improve both safety and diagnostic outcomes.
  • Reinforce awareness of dose monitoring tools and dose-tracking metrics in abdominal imaging.

On-demand access is exclusively available for holders of the ESR Premium Education Package.
