IWS 93 - Bridging pediatric and adult chronic liver disease assessment: Our experience with a cohort of 250-patients across age groups

Join Prof JM Correas to explore the role of quantitative ultrasound—specifically shear wave elastography (SWE) and attenuation imaging (UGAP) —in assessing diffuse liver disease across pediatric and adult populations. Drawing from a cohort of 250 patients, including 100 children potentially at the onset of chronic liver disease, we present a cross-disciplinary perspective combining hepatology and ultrasound imaging. Through this dialogue, we aim to refine the timing, rationale, and methodology for evaluating hepatic fibrosis and steatosis, highlighting how early and accurate quantification can inform clinical decisions and improve patient outcomes.’
