COURSE INFORMATION

The ESOR Foundation Courses are a series of online courses aimed at residents in their 4th and 5th year of training in radiology and recently board-certified radiologists, but suitable for anyone who wishes to refresh their fundamentals as well. Through a wide range of topics, this series covers all of the bases and sets you up for clinical and academical success.

This course will provide an in-depth view into modern state-of the-art imaging, diagnosis and reporting of diseases of the knee and spine, and of bone marrow diseases and cartilaginous tumors. There will be an in-depth focus on MR imaging of the traumatic and degenerative knee and spine, on imaging of bone marrow diseases, osteopenia and cartilaginous bone tumors, with special attention to soft skills: how to report and communicatie efficiently with referring physicians and with the patient.

 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • To understand and describe the typical imaging features of common degenerative and traumatic diseases of the knee and spine
  • To provide a practical approach towards efficient reporting of traumatic and degenerative diseases of the knee and spine
  • To provide a practical approach towards efficient imaging of bone marrow and adapt protocols to the individual situation for optimal evaluation
  • To consolidate knowledge about the typical findings of cartilaginous tumors, with special focus on enchondroma, atypical cartilaginous tumor and chondrosarcoma
