COURSE INFORMATION

The ESOR Foundation Courses are a series of online courses aimed at residents in their 4th and 5th year of training in radiology and recently board-certified radiologists, but suitable for anyone who wishes to refresh their fundamentals as well. Through a wide range of topics, this series covers all of the bases and sets you up for clinical and academical success.

This course will provide an in-depth view into modern state-of the-art imaging, diagnosis and reporting of diseases of the knee and spine, and of bone marrow diseases and cartilaginous tumors. There will be an in-depth focus on MR imaging of the traumatic and degenerative knee and spine, on imaging of bone marrow diseases, osteopenia and cartilaginous bone tumors, with special attention to soft skills: how to report and communicatie efficiently with referring physicians and with the patient.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

To understand and describe the typical imaging features of common degenerative and traumatic diseases of the knee and spine
To provide a practical approach towards efficient reporting of traumatic and degenerative diseases of the knee and spine
To provide a practical approach towards efficient imaging of bone marrow and adapt protocols to the individual situation for optimal evaluation
To consolidate knowledge about the typical findings of cartilaginous tumors, with special focus on enchondroma, atypical cartilaginous tumor and chondrosarcoma
