Abdominal CT from A to Z

November 10, 2021 | 10:00 CET

Course information

This course is aimed at senior residents, board-certified radiologists and fellows interested in abdominal CT imaging. This intense one-day programme is focused on CT protocols and main imaging results in abdominal diseases. The course will emphasize the added value of dual energy techniques and other innovations. It is designed to update knowledge on the role of CT for assessment of the most common diseases affecting the liver, pancreas, biliary tract, kidney, small and large bowel. This course will also focus on acute abdominal conditions as well as abdominal post operative findings. Renowned European lecturers will ensure a high-quality teaching programme, combining short lectures and many interactive cases.

Learning objectives

- to describe the technical principles and various clinical applications of dual energy CT of the abdomen, as well as its technical limitations and pitfalls

- to learn the potential benefits of CT-based opportunistic screening at abdominal imaging

- to learn and discuss the approach to the design of CT protocols to be used in acute abdominal conditions and in specific organ-based explorations

- to illustrate the main results of CT exploration (including dual energy CT technique) in depicting and characterising lesions in various abdominal organs including liver, pancreas, biliary tract, small and large bowel, and kidney

CME accreditation
