IND 9 - Artificial intelligence in breast imaging: Chances, challenges, and concerns

Several advances have been made in the commercialization of AI-based decision support software in recent years. Retrospective studies have shown AI's high performance compared with that of breast radiologists in several clinical applications in breast cancer screening and diagnostics. According to these studies, different types of AI–based solutions have the potential to reduce the workload and recall rate in screening and/or improve breast cancer detection.

Now an important task is to gain clarity about the AI applications that have most potential in breast cancer screening and diagnostics. Our expert panel will shed light on the role of AI in the clinical routine. They will discuss the chances, challenges, and concerns that put the use of AI in mammography and tomosynthesis to the test. You are invited to actively participate in this lively discussion.
