COURSE INFORMATION

The ESOR Foundation Courses are a series of online courses aimed at residents in their 4th and 5th year of training in radiology and recently board-certified radiologists, but suitable for anyone who wishes to refresh their fundamentals as well. Through a wide range of topics, this series covers all of the bases and sets you up for clinical and academical success.

This course provides fundamental knowledge and practical insights into cardiovascular imaging. It is tailored to residents and young radiologists (ETC Levels I–II), focusing on the essentials of coronary CT and cardiac MR in ischemic and non-ischemic disease. A clear stepwise approach will guide participants from anatomy to pathology, with emphasis on structured reporting and common pitfalls.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • To understand the normal and variant coronary anatomy and its clinical relevance.
  • To learn how to assess and report coronary stenoses on CT.
  • To understand the principles of myocardial perfusion imaging in clinical practice.
  • To recognize imaging features of the thoracic aorta and distinguish normality from pathology.
  • To approach cardiomyopathies with pattern recognition and structured reporting.
  • To identify normal and abnormal right heart findings in CT and MR.
