COURSE INFORMATION

The programme of this webinar will cover the dos and don’ts of optimisation of head computed tomography procedures. It is aimed at radiologists, radiographers, and medical physicists who want to improve their skills in:

  • Securing adequate diagnostic image quality in head CT scans
  • Avoiding image artefacts and finding an optimal balance between radiation exposure and image quality
  • Identifying common and uncommon causes of unnecessary radiation dose increase in head CT
  • Performing pediatric head CT with optimized scan protocols

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

After watching the webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the main differences between the scan modes and CT scanner models as regards to head CT scans
  • Know how to avoid unnecessary eye exposure in head exams
  • Understand the main exposure and reconstruction parameters and how they differ in various scanner models
  • Analyse the effects of scan acquisition parameters on image quality and radiation dose

On-demand access is exclusively available for holders of the ESR Premium Education Package.
