COURSE INFORMATION

The ESOR Foundation Courses are a series of online courses aimed at residents in their 4th and 5th year of training in radiology and recently board-certified radiologists, but suitable for anyone who wishes to refresh their fundamentals as well. Through a wide range of topics, this series covers all of the bases and sets you up for clinical and academical success.

This course provides comprehensive insights into the fundamentals and advanced applications of modern interventional radiology. It covers individualized treatment decision-making using vascular imaging, as well as vascular access and closure techniques, supported by clinical cases. It also offers an overview of selected vascular and non-vascular interventions, demonstrating the broad range of interventional radiology treatments. Topics include transarterial therapy for liver tumors and the management of arteriovenous malformations with endovascular and percutaneous approaches.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • To explain the principles and clinical applications of non-invasive vascular imaging
  • To understand core endovascular techniques, including vascular access, closure methods, and procedural workflows used in peripheral and hepatobiliary interventions
  • To learn about the appropriate selection of minimally invasive therapies for different diseases and conditions
