IWS 132 - Liver Fat Quantification on Pediatric patients: Ultrasound Derived Fat Fraction (UDFF) Vs Biopsy

February 29, 14:30 - 15:00 CET

Presentation by Siemens Healthineers
Annamaria Deganello, London / United Kingdom
The assessment of patients presenting with liver steatosis has become mandatory with the increasing incidence of fatty liver disease.

Currently, liver biopsy is the reference standard for diagnosing and grading hepatic steatosis. Liver biopsy is, however, inappropriate for screening or frequent monitoring as it is invasive, prone to sampling errors and observer variability .
Ultrasound Derived Fat Fraction (UDFF) is an innovative ultrasound advanced application that can quantify the amount of fat contained within a patient’s liver in seconds* during a routine abdominal ultrasound.

Preliminary data of an ongoing study comparing UDFF to liver biopsy results on pediatric patients will be discussed in this presentation.

This workshop will not be streamed, nor will it be available on-demand!
