COURSE INFORMATION

The course will focus on emergent presentations occurring in children and adults and involving the brain, head and neck, and spine. A fresh look at the various imaging modalities and their respective yield will help participants to familiarize themselves with the most appropriate imaging strategies in the various conditions, with an eye to choosing the modality that helps the most into solving the immediate clinical questions. The course will include a substantial amount of case presentations aimed at portraying real-life situations.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • To become familiar with imaging features of conditions that may present in the emergency room, both in children and adults
  • To learn how to choose the most appropriate imaging strategies
  • To recognize the breadth of differential diagnoses in patients with emergent presentations
