LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Develop diagnostic skills: Recognize and differentiate clinical presentations and imaging findings in acute stroke, brain injury (accidental and non-accidental), and major pediatric trauma.

  • Identify specific diagnostic features and pitfalls: Learn key diagnostic patterns, such as malrotation, volvulus, pneumonia, bronchiolitis, and abdominal tumors in children, while recognizing potential imaging pitfalls that may affect accuracy.

  • Apply guidelines and follow-up protocols: Understand the role of imaging in line with European guidance for pediatric trauma, and apply appropriate protocols for follow-up and monitoring of disease recurrence or post-treatment effects.

  • Understand imaging protocols and modalities: Gain knowledge of protocols, including advantages and limitations of various imaging methods, and recognize appropriate imaging approaches for different clinical contexts.
