This course series is designed to empower radiologists, radiographers and healthcare professionals with the knowledge, tools, and strategies needed to integrate sustainability into their daily practice. Covering key topics such as energy consumption, waste management, contrast agents, and certification frameworks, the sessions aim to provide practical insights and foster a culture of environmental responsibility in radiology.
The environmental impact of contrast agents, including their ecotoxicological effects, has gained increasing attention. Sustainable use and disposal are essential for minimizing their environmental footprint.
This course addresses the environmental challenges of contrast agent use, exploring strategies for dose reduction, efficient use, and wastewater management. Participants will gain insights from the GREENWATER, the MeGadoRe studies and other innovative approaches to reduce contrast agent residues in the environment.
