Description
The Asian Oceanian Society of Radiology (AOSR) was established after the first meeting of Asian and Oceanian Regional Radiologists in 1969. The society supports basic clinical research, education, and patient care to advance the development of radiology.
AOSR hosted the Asian Oceanian Congress of Radiology (AOCR) biannually. From 2020, AOSR hosts AOCR annually however, AOCR 2020 in Malaysia was postponed to 2021 due to COVID-19. For the reason, there were two AOCRs in 2021 which was held from April 15 to 18, 2021, in Yokohama, Japan, and July 1 to 4, 2021, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The upcoming AOCRs will be held in Singapore from August 20 to 23, 2026, in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from April 29 to May 2, 2027, and in Hong Kong in 2028.
Previous AOCRs were held in Kobe, Japan in 2014, Beijing, China in 2016, Mumbai, India in 2018, Seoul, Korea in 2022, and Bangkok, Thailand in 2023, Tapei in 2024, and Chennai, India in 2025.
AOSR launched an independent acting body, Asian Oceanian School of Radiology (AOSOR). AOSOR is an educational body of AOSR to support AOSR member societies and their members in radiology and scientific communication. The main activities AOSOR Conjoint Session, Youth Club, and Mentorship Program are ongoing.
