ECR Radiology Escape Room
Join us at this year’s ECR Radiology Escape Room, hosted by the Young Radiologists team from the Charité in Berlin, Germany for an exciting 20-minute experience!
Being a resident, you never know what a night shift may have in store for you. While you’ve gained some experience and learned a few interventional skills since your first night shift last year, you still feel an uneasy excitement every time the phone rings with a call from the emergency department. You rush downstairs and get “locked-in” the bustle of the ED. Can you help your colleagues, make the diagnosis and save the patient before time runs out?
Take up this new challenge as a group to solve the puzzles and “escape” the emergency department in time!
Up to five participants can take part in each round, with empty seats being filled with individual players or smaller teams. The fastest teams will win exciting prizes!
Reserve your slot in advance, either directly at the Escape Room Welcome Desk or online via the booking link here. The Escape Room is located on Level 1, 1.42-1.43.

European Excellence in Education (E3)
The E3 programme emphasises the importance of lifelong learning. It covers the entire range of educational issues, from undergraduate medical education to subspecialised continuing professional development. The E3 programme is structured according to the different levels defined by the ESR European Training Curriculum for Radiology (ETC).
The E3 programme consists of the following branches, which reflect the different levels of education in radiology, as well as the different stages of an individual’s professional career.
The E³ – Young ECR Programme is tailored for residents, students, radiographers, and trainee radiographers, designed especially to offer a variety of essential knowledge. An assortment of sessions is provided to ensure a thorough examination of the topics, including Basic Sessions, Case-Based Diagnosis Training Sessions, Student Sessions, and the Radiology Trainees Forum Programme, including the RTF Highlighted Lectures and the entertaining RTF Quiz.
The E³ – European Diploma Prep sessions aim to provide preparation for future European Diploma in Radiology (EDiR) candidates and are held in close cooperation with the European Board of Radiology (EBR). They are also suitable for residents wishing to obtain an overview of the various topics relevant to imaging, and for those preparing for their national board examinations. The content of the programme reflects Levels I+II European Training Curriculum for Radiology (ETC) learning objectives across a two-year cycle.
The E³ – Beauty of Basic Knowledge sessions offer participants the chance to refresh their knowledge in fundamental topics of imaging. This year, the Beauty of Basic Knowledge sessions focus on sports, hybrid and vascular imaging, allowing anyone from new residents to board-certified radiologists to strengthen their understanding in these essentials of radiology.
The E³ – Advanced Courses are a series of sessions covering subjects of great relevance. This year’s courses include imaging of the heart, sustainable technological innovations and image-guided therapy. Conducted by specialists in their discipline, the various sessions within each course demonstrate the multiple facets of these topics while complementing one another to provide an in-depth exploration of the respective field.
The E³ – ECR Master Classes focus on continuous professional development and lifelong learning. The classes are designed for subspecialised radiologists seeking cutting-edge information in their particular fields of interest. They are held by experts in the field and reflect state-of-the-art knowledge, as well as emerging trends. The contents mostly cover Level III European Training Curriculum (ETC) learning objectives and beyond.

Active ESR members can get support for installing the JuiSci x ESR feed on their mobile phones at the JuiSci booth in the Publications Lounge.
Radiographers’ Area
The Radiographers Area is the place to be for radiographers. It is home to the booths of the radiographer societies and is also connected to an EFRS Research Hub, as well as to lecture rooms dedicated to the radiographers’ programme (Lecture Room G1, Lecture Room H and the Open Forum Radiographers).
Radiographers’ Programme
The ECR is recognised as the official annual scientific meeting for medical imaging for radiographers by both the European Federation of Radiographer Societies (EFRS) and the European Society of Radiology (ESR).
In cooperation with the EFRS, ECR offers a comprehensive and perfectly tailored programme for radiographers with various stages of experience.
Radiology Trainees Forum (RTF)
The RTF promotes and coordinates the efforts of radiology trainees at a European level to improve the progress of radiology and related sciences.
This year’s Highlighted Lectures organised by the RTF will cover important topics in paediatric, abdominal and chest imaging.
Join us for the RTF Quiz titled ‘Mona Lisa smile: women’s health imaging through the ages’ with the two quiz masters, Marco Francone and Alexis Jacquier, on Thursday, February 29, 14:00–15:30 in Room A on Level 2.
Recording / Photography
Video or audio recording of presentations is not allowed without prior permission from the speaker/exhibitor and ECR. Flash photography is not permitted during presentations. Interviews must take place outside the lecture room. For queries, please contact the ESR Press Office.
Please note that participants might be photographed and filmed during their attendance at lectures, presentations, speeches, and other scientific events, as well as in exhibition and reception areas. Film material is broadcast via video and audio streaming on ESR Connect. Photographs may be used for various ESR promotional purposes.
Refresher Courses
The Refresher Courses (RC) consist of a variety of key radiological topics orchestrated by the scientific subcommittees. The aim of the sessions is not only to refresh the audience’s knowledge, but also to review, inform, and offer updates on the various fields with engaging presentations suitable for new radiologists through to experienced doctors.

Taxi
ATTENTION: Road Constructions Around ACV- Choose Public Transport to Avoid Delays!
Road constructions near the congress venue ACV may cause traffic jams and serious delays. We recommend using public transport to and from the venue to ensure timely and stress-free arrival. Your cooperation is appreciated!
Starting from ECR 2024, for security reasons, taxis are no longer allowed to access the drive and parking zone directly in front of the Austria Center.
Instead, taxis can enter the Austria Center car park (parking deck P2), now the main pick-up and drop-off area.
Please note that limited space and ongoing construction work in the Leonard Bernstein Tunnel, may lead to traffic jams.
For efficiency, all participants are encouraged to use public transportation.
A small taxi stand is also available near the underground station.
